German GP FP4: Maverick Viñales… But Yamaha talk back

Viñales betters Marquez in FP4

Less than a tenth split the Yamaha and Honda duo as two Suzukis and a KTM join them inside the top five

Maverick Viñales (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP) set a 1:21.153 in FP4 at the HJC Helmets Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland to beat Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda Team) by 0.075 as the riders prepare what settings and tyres they are going to race with. Alex Rins (Team Suzuki Ecstar) finishes 0.3 off Viñales in third.

Joan Mir joined teammate Rins inside the top five as the rookie completed 19 laps to get another solid session under his belt, he’ll take part in Q2 shortly, with Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Pol Espargaro making it an all-Spanish top five in FP4 at the Sachsenring – 0.512 splitting the quintet.

Fabio Quartararo (Petronas Yamaha SRT) got 19 laps done in FP4 after partially dislocating his shoulder in FP3, the Frenchman finished P7.

Hafizh Syahrin (Red Bull KTM Tech 3) crashed at Turn 13, rider ok.
