Japan GP Warmup: Early Marquez

Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda Team) topped the first session of race day in Japan – and consistently – with Ducati Team’s Andrea Dovizioso second quickest.  Maverick Viñales (Team Suzuki Ecstar) was P3, ahead of teammate Aleix Espargaro.

Movistar Yamaha MotoGP’s Valentino Rossi was fifth, just ahead of reigning Champion and teammate Jorge Lorenzo – who suffered a huge highside crash in FP3 on Saturday and was back on track although bruised. Cal Crutchlow (LCR Honda) was P7, with Hector Barbera (Ducati Team) ahead of Scott Redding (Octo Pramac Yakhnich) and Pol Espargaro (Monster Yamaha Tech 3), who completed the top ten.

Lights go out at 14:00 local time (GMT +9) for the Motul Grand Prix of Japan, with Marquez looking to take that outside chance at the title, and Rossi and Lorenzo ready to attack.
