Francesco Bagnaia of Ducati Lenovo Team won the Tissot Sprint at the Red Bull Grand Prix of The Americas in Austin, Texas, leaving the rest of the field to battle it out for the remaining places on the podium. The start of the race was marked by drama as Alex Rins of LCR Honda Castrol took the hole shot into turn one, but after one lap, Bagnaia took the lead and increased his advantage. Rins fought back and came in second place. Meanwhile, Jorge Martin of Prima Pramac Racing took third place after coming from 12th on the grid. Aleix Espargaro of Aprilia Racing fought off Martin for the final podium place. Fabio Quartararo of Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP crashed out of the Sprint at turn 1, which allowed Alex Marquez of Gresini Racing MotoGP to get through.
