Alex Marquez from Gresini Racing MotoGP™ has topped the timesheets in Practice 1 at the Grande Prémio TISSOT de Portugal, with Joan Mir from Repsol Honda and Luca Marini from Mooney VR46 Racing Team coming in second and third respectively. Ducati once again demonstrated their dominance in MotoGP™, but the session was not without its surprises. Light rain at the start of the session saw most of the riders watching from the pit lane, but the rain cleared with about 30 minutes left of the session, leading to a flurry of fast laps that decided the order. The two Repsol Honda riders, Marc Marquez and Joan Mir, ran a solid pace together, while the two Mooney VR46 Racing Team riders, Luca Marini and Marco Bezzecchi, pushed hard to take third and fourth respectively. The top Aprilia was Maverick Viñales from Aprilia Racing, finishing in sixth place. The title favorites, Fabio Quartararo from Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP™ and Francesco Bagnaia from Ducati Lenovo Team, had a relatively quiet session and finished eighth and ninth respectively.
