Marc Marquez finishes the free practice 3 of the German Grand Prix with the best time, ahead of the one who stands out as his main rival of the weekend: Fabio Quartararo.
Scored in 1’20.347, Marc Marquez (1st) did better than last year’s FP3 (1’20.438 by Andrea Iannone) and is close to the absolute record of the circuit (1’20.270).
His first two opponents are, as in Assen, two Yamaha: Petronas Fabio Quartararo (2nd) and Monster Energy Maverick Viñales (3rd). A third M1 is directly qualified in Q2, that of Franco Morbidelli (6th). Disappointment for Valentino Rossi (11th) who fails for 7 thousandths behind Pol Espargaro (10th) and will, once again, go through the repechage.
Although suffering from his leg, Cal Cruchlow (4th) manages to chain the fast turns. The two Suzukists Alex Rins (5th) and Joan Mir (9th) are also in Q2. There will also be Desmosedici by Danilo Petrucci (7th) and Jack Miller (8th). On the other hand, Andrea Dovizioso (14th) goes in Q1.
In the rest of the results, there will be the 17th position of Johann Zarco one second behind the leader, Stefan Bradl’s 18th replacing Jorge Lorenzo or the Aprilia duo’s performance (Aleix Espargaro 12th, Andrea Iannone 16th), who will try to send at least one RS-GP in Q2
