British GP Warmup: Hernandez by Surprise

Yonny Hernandez (PULL&BEAR Aspar) topped a damp and cold morning warm up at Silverstone circuit, as the Colombian beat Loris Baz (Avintia Racing) to the top spot.

Alex Lowes (Monster Yamaha Tech 3), standing in for injured Bradley Smith, was third quickest on his final attempt in an impressive showing, ahead of Andrea Dovizioso (Ducati Team).

Reigning champion Jorge Lorenzo (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) was the quickest championship contender on track in P5, ahead of Scott Redding (Octo Pramac Yakhnich), Andrea Iannone (Ducati Team) – a crasher with no consequence at T1 – and Eugene Laverty (PULL&BEAR Aspar) completing the top 8.

Tito Rabat (Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS) and Hector Barbera (Avintia Racing) were P9 and P10. Valentino Rossi (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) was P11 with Dani Pedrosa (Repsol Honda Team) in P12. Pedrosa’s teammate Marc Marquez, along with many others on the grid, only used the time to practice a bike swap and didn’t set a representative time.
